Former POW takes teacher for a dance

Vietnam POWs........ Just saw on the news that today marks the 40th anniversary of the return of 108 brave men who were held as POWs during the Vietnam Nam war.  I was in high school and can remember seeing the men and their families reuniting on tv.  But a few months later, at a school assembly, one of McGill High School alumni, Jeremiah Denton, one of the returning POWs, came to talk to us. This was the first  time I remembered no talking or noise during a speaker talking.  During the talk he mentioned going to parties while he was at McGill and dancing,.  He mentioned a few girls he knew there and lo and behold a nun (catholic school) who was my geometry teacher jumped up yelling her name out (I cannot remember Sister--------- name at this moment)  and Jeremiah left the podium, she ran up, they met in the middle of the assembly and whirled around in a dance!!  So sweet and precious! I will always remember that moment, where a POW completely hushed a rowdy high school assembly,  and took our geometry teacher for a dance around the floor with a memory from his long ago days in high school.
